Free Cone Day
Nationally there is a free cone day event being promoted to celebrate Dairy Queen's 75th anniversary. The date of the nationally promoted free cone day event is 03/16/2015. Many stores in Michigan however will be hosting a free cone day event on 03/20/2015 instead.
Because the stores listed on this website have been running a free cone day event and raising money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals for 5 or more years on the first day of Spring, which is always March 20th, they have decided to continue their local tradition.
We apologize for any confusion caused by these conflicting dates.
DQ FREE CONE DAY DESCRIBED:
Dairy Queen® Free Cone Day is a special event hosted on the first day of spring by your local Michigan Dairy Queen® owners. On this day, Dairy Queen® owners give away free small cones to anybody that visits their store. No strings attached. It is an event organized by the owners as a thank you to the community and a celebration of the coming warmer months.
Dairy Queen® Free Cone Day draws visitors all day long. It starts with the lunch crowd, then the office snackers, then the after school flock, then the rush hour horde, then the dinner diners and last of all the evening treat mob. Thousands will visit a single store on this day. Some stores also give away balloons and other fun stuff, but everybody gets a free cone.
On Dairy Queen® Free Cone Day the owners also work to raise money to benefit their national charity, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals by collecting donations and selling Dairy Queen® coupons for return visits. Dairy Queen® owners have a long history of serving the community through fund raisers and contributions for the benefit of CMN Hospitals, local schools, kid's sports teams and other local charities.
So come visit any of our participating Dairy Queen® stores and grab yourself a free small cone, and if you have some spare money, please drop it in the CMN Hospital donation bucket.
